What is SAFEBOARD® WaveTech™?
SAFEBOARD® WaveTech™ is a patented technology consisting of a set of interlocking SAFEBOARD® panels featuring carefully engineered “wave-pattern” edges. When pieced together, WaveTech™ panels span a large area such as 65”x128” and 65”x136”. SAFEBOARD® WaveTech™ panels reinforce slabs to make them strong and easy to handle, fabricate, and install, just like any other stone slabs. WaveTech™ is implemented in a multitude of SAFEBOARD® products.
Thin-bodied porcelain, sintered stone, and ultra-compact surfaces are difficult to handle and can easily shatter. When backed with WaveTech™ panels, the slabs become rigid and easy to handle, thus removing all the typical risks that come with using fragile slabs.
Installing a regular sized 4'x10' (or larger) SAFEBOARD® panel on a slab can be cumbersome. WaveTech™ comes in smaller sections for easier assembly - the entire assembly can be performed by one person in less than 30 minutes.
The wave pattern serves as a guide for assembling the smaller SAFEBOARD® sections onto the slab. In addition, the specific wave pattern we have engineered creates a stronger joint between panels versus a simple straight cut across the panels.
